Andre Agassi and the Canon Rebel ad campaign, it’s what started my fascination with the Canon brand. Growing up as kid in the early eighties, the only camera I had ever used was a Polaroid. The Polaroid was a fun toy of sorts, a novelty. When I saw the commercial with Andre Agassi, I was instantly obsessed. The marketing worked and the thought of photography seemed cool and edgy especially with a Canon Rebel.

In middle school I took a photography class and developed my first roll of film. Later in high school I took another photography class and spent many of hours in the darkroom, learning about composition and exposure. While in high school I was given a Minolta brand 35mm camera, and getting the photos developed at the local CVS was not cheap, but so very worth it.

As I got older an could finally afford a digital camera, the first ones were basic, consumer grade point-and-shoot cameras with fixed lenses. They were fun and captured years worth of priceless memories and random foolishness. One day in 2017 it finally happened, a promotion on the Canon website for a refurbished 5D Mark IV DSLR. With that camera I would travel to New York multiple times, Chicago, Hawaii, Morocco, Spain, and Mexico.

In my photography journey I discovered two things. First, I love landscape and cityscape photos, and second I interact well with people, so portraits and event photography come with ease. With this much delayed website, I have an outlet to share my artwork and share the lessons and stories that come with my continuing journey.
